Hypertension (HTN or HT), also known as high blood pressure (HBP), is a long-term medical condition in which the blood pressure in the arteries is persistently elevated.
Primary hypertension with elevated homocysteine(Hcy) is known as H-type hypertension, which is extremely harmful for health.
According to the WHO (WHO) Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the fasting plasma homocysteine (Hcy) level of one healthy adult is in 5~10 mol /L. It belongs to the high Hcy hyperlipidemia when Hcy is higher than 10 mol /L. Data show that about 75% of Chinese hypertensive patients are associated with elevated Hcy (Hcy level > 10 mol /L), or called high Hcy blood pressure. 60% of women with hypertension had elevated Hcy, compared with almost 91% in men.
Folate is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease, and the risk will increase with poor folate levels.
Magnafolate® could reduce the concentration of Hcy and improve vascular endothelial function significantly by ensuring the activity of GSH. At the same time, Magnafolate® could be absorbed from the intestinal tract into the blood, and then directly utilized, without increasing any burden on the liver.

Apoplexy is slang for “Stoke”, which is bleeding within internal organs and
the accompanying symptoms.
Studies show that elevated homocysteine / folate deficiency is closely related to stroke.
And they can play a synergistic role with hypertension to further increase the risk of stroke.
The announced Chinese stroke primary prevention research results in March, 2015, after an average of 4.5 years to follow-up in 20702 Chinese hypertensive patients, they found that the risk of first stoke significantly reduced 21% by Antihypertensive treatment ,at the same time, intaking 0.8ug folate.
Considering that 6S-5-methylfolate is equally effective for folate metabolism, hence, Magnafolate have the role of prevention and adjunctive in stoke as well.

Studies show that 6S-5-methylfolate calcium can improve blood vessel endothelial function, maintain the blood flow of a small vessel in the peripheral nerve to keep their normal functions, such as the repair and regeneration of the peripheral nerve, including the production of myelin, a fatty substance that protects nerve fibers, thereby reversing endothelial dysfunction in diabetics.
