What is 5-methyltetrahydrofolate?

5-Methyltetrahydrofolate is the main possessed form of folate in serum and is the active folic acid.

For folate to be active, it needs to have 5,l0-methylenetetrahydrofolate depicted by the MTHFR as 5-methyltetrahydrofolate.
What is 5-methyltetrahydrofolate
People with the 677TT genotype have reduced MTHFR activity and ingested folate cannot be converted to active folate. In this group, an additional intake of 5-methylenetetrahydrofolate is required under supervision to ensure that Hcy can successfully complete the methionine cycle and to reduce the level of Hcy in the blood.
