Registration of Magnafolate

Magnafolate fulfills and exceeds the specifications of the United States Pharmacopoeia(USP 37)for Calcium L-5 Methyltetrahydro-folate.
Magnafolate is also known as L-methylfolate;L-5-MTHF-Ca;L-methylfolate calcium;
L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolic acid,calcium salt;[6S]-5-Methyltetrahydrofolic acid,calcium salt.

In 2001 the US-FDA accepted the first New Dietary Ingredient Notification for L-methylfolate Calcium as a source of folate and an alternative to folic acid.
In 2002 the first <Medical Food>containing L-methylfolate Calcium as ingredient was launched in US.

In 2004 EFSA declared a daily intake of 1 mg/person/day of L-methyl-folate Calcium as safe,for the use as an ingredient in special nutrients,dietary supplement and normal food product.

In 2005 JECFA considered L-methylfolate Calcium as a safe alternate to folic acid in food, and as more suitable for food fortification.
Registration of Magnafolate
In 2008 the Food Standards Australia New Zealand approved the use of L-methylfolate Calcium in supplements and for the fortification of specified food.
In February 2016 Jinkang Hexin completed the self-affirmed GRAS-status in USA.
In August 2016 the US-FDA accepted the New Dietary Ingredient Notification of Jinkang Hexin.

In December 2017 China Health Human Resources approved the application from Jinkang Hexin.L-methylfolate Calcium can be used as source of folate for the fortification of milk powder and beverage powder.
