In September of 2021,  a paper which is《Effect of 5-Methyletrahydrofolate in infertile patients with Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) 677TT mutation undergoing IVF》was published on《FERTILITY & STERILITY》.

A comparative study of 91 infertile patients with MTHFR 677TT genotype confirmed the conclusion that supplementation of 800mcg of 5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid daily for 80-90 days before fertilization can improve in vitro fertilization-embryo implantation rate. It is recommended that infertility with homozygous TT gene mutation MTHFR 677C>T be supplemented with 5-MTHF before fertilization.
